Two weeks left!

Hi everyone.
Thanks for reading this blog. It's pretty strange to think there are only two weeks left before the big day, but here we are. It seems like both forever and five minutes ago that I first volunteered to help out with all of this, and so much has happened in the meantime.
I'm so happy the website is up and running, for one thing. It makes it so much easier to explain what I'm talking about if I can just share a link, so that's been handy. Seeing all of the photos of supporters and volunteers posing with Mirai-chan on the site and around social media is pretty great as well (and there is still plenty of time for more of those *not-hinting-at-all-I-swear*).
It's a strange thought that what initially was just a nice idea by a lone kindly soul has grown into something this big, and after the meeting-having, budget-planning, venue-evaluating, food-tasting, idea-conjuring, let's-get-to-itness of the volunteers, things have really been speeding along. There's still a lot to do of course (I still have to get the final budget amount sorted for the UK culture booth – it's going to be awesome guys, I'm excited for it to come together), but given the dedication of everyone and the goings-on of the past few weeks I know it will come together. I just have to try not to procrastinate as much as I usually do. Fingers crossed.
Due to all of this effort the day itself will be great, but if you can't make it for business, geographical or other reasons, we'd still really appreciate any help you can give. Whether it's monetary, or whether it's simply printing off the adorable Mirai-chan fan and selfie-ing the life out of it, anything is appreciated. Spread the word far and wide and help get this event as much publicity as possible around the world!
Ok, now that the plugging is over (at least on the blog anyway), watch this space for more news regarding how things are progressing and any other random happenings, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter and all those fun places to keep updated.
Thanks again for reading. Now I'm off to look at adorable costumes and possibly host a tiddlywinks tournament. It's all in the name of research, honest.
T minus two weeks and counting...
Sarah
