Hello everyone.
Thank you for checking out this week’s blog! I’d like to talk about our adventures over the past week.
On Sunday April 12th, the cooking team held a tasting session to try out the menus that we will serve on the day of the event. I can’t get into too much detail about the dishes; however, if you have taken a look at our Facebook page you may have seen a sneak peak of some of the sweets (find us on Facebook! *nudge nudge*). We still need to tweak a couple of recipes but I can’t wait to serve these to all of our customers! Some of the dishes had flavors that I have never tasted before, and I’m sure they will be a hit with everyone!
Last night, the culture booth team and the cooking team took a trip down to Palette Town, the event hall where we will hold “Cheer for Fukushima”. Our cooking team leader, Dana, had the opportunity to do a walk through and check all of the available equipment to be utilized on the day of the event. It has been a while since I last saw a “real” oven. I really miss baking fresh, homemade cookies back home in Canada with my mother! The kitchen was quite spacious which means it’s going to be a lot easier to move around and cook, compared to the tiny kitchen we all have to use in our apartments.
We held a committee meeting afterwards and had a discussion about the activities that we will hold for each culture booth. I can’t wait for all of you to check these out! The Japanese children are going to have a memorable experience, by having the opportunity to speak to foreigners from many countries on the day, playing games and joining cultural activities, and having the chance to taste the international cuisine! I’m sure that most Japanese people have never tasted the food that we will offer, so this is going to be an exciting part of the event.
6 more weeks to go!

Thanks!
